Kids Minus XBox

Kids Minus XBox

Occasionally I execute my privileges as Executive Boss (mom) and force my children to do wicked things. Like shut down the XBox and go outdoors. I know it's summer break, but we can't go to FL every weekend and XBox is not the only alternative to vacationing.

This summer I've found the kids creating some ingenius toys from various garage content. They've discovered awesome ways to entertain themselves. It's amazing how kids will shine given the opportunity. AND assuming you've sailed past the test where they complain about being "bored". We solved that dilemma long ago. Once the kids learned our solutions to cure boredom, they pretty much stopped getting bored.

Stay tuned for more photos of what kids came up with on their own.

  • PS did they catch any fish? If so, what kind was it? I love fishing.

  • Not even a minnow! But, I'll post a pic of a big muskie another fisherman caught upstream from the boys. It will be in my "ALL THINGS OHIO" page.

  • My sister has decided not to let my nephew, Anthony, play any video games for as long as we can control it - save that stupid Leap Frog game system our mother just HAD to get him the day he was born (or maybe it was the day after). We are finding that he is a special talent that many of his pre-school peers seem to lack - the ability to interact with people! Imagine that!!! He can interact with other people without giving them the deer in the headlight look :) Good for you and your family! ...and thanks for all of the Pics both you and Ed provide, just amazing!
