Once a Skater, Always a Skater?

If bicycle riding is anything like ice skating, you never forget...right?  Exactamundo! At least that's how it worked for me. It's been 25 years since I've been on the ice. Last week I pumped myself up to test drive a pair of skates. I gracefully stepped out in the rink and it all came back to me - mostly. At least I skated more on my feeet than I did on my butt!

When the boys wanted to go ice skating, I wondered why I didn't think of it first. Anything that gets them away from TV and XBox is usually a good thing. Besides they both love to play hockey, which should require ice more often than it does controllers.

Skating was the best fun! Getting out of bed the next morning took more effort than normal. But, next week we plan to be back on the ice - wearing a little more butt padding.
