Are You Happy?

Are You Happy?

Hard to believe a man of such wisdom lived a less than healthy lifestyle for so many years. He smoke, drank, and once claimed the best exercise he got was being pallbearer at the funeral of his friends who died exercising. Some people credit Winston Churchill's longevity to having lived a happy life surrounded by people, especially family whom he loved.

The Journal of Happiness Studies claims the numero uno key to happiness is not wealth, health, fame or career, but relationships with other human beings.

Our pastor delivered an encouraging sermon titled “Are You Happy?” this morning and shared lots of interesting facts including the above. He talked about accepting one another as Christ accepts those who come to Him as they are. Sometimes we become impatient with people and want to change the things we consider less than perfect. But, that is not our commission.

His Biblical references came from John 13 and Ephesians 3.  John 13:34-35 says, "Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another."

You can hear Pastor Frank Carl's sermon each week on the Genoa Baptist Church website. It can be downloaded or streamed.
