Glam for girls
Glam for girls
A couple weeks ago we drove by the mall to checkout the Cheescake Factory and a couple other restaurants. The cutest pink Limo in the parking lot totally caught my eye and I snapped several images before we left.
Later, I checked out the website sweetandsassy.com painted on the car. I never expected it to be a total party business for young girls – well I guess boys can be invited, too, but it’s obviously targeted toward young girls. The whole idea just blew me away! Little girls cannot afford limos and spa parties. Which means parents have to plan and fork out the dough for these things, right?
This whole glam thing really ruffled my feathers. But, perhaps I’m a bit jaded. As a child we were dirt poor. My parents could barely afford birthday gifts. A huge party with a limo ride to the spa would have been a pipe dream. Besides back then there weren’t spas and fitness centers on every few corners. Furthermore, my dad forbid me to try out for cheerleading because the girls wore short skirts. I can’t imagine him letting me attend a party to get nails done! Yeah, my dad raised me on the strict side.
But, I wonder even if I had been a cheerleader and my parents were financially successful, would I feel the same way about glam parties for little girls? Yes, I think so. I’m just not that into glam for little girls. Is it just me?
